On February 7, 2016, William Earl (Cody) Hopkins (74) passed away at his home in Balch Springs, Texas while surrounded by his family. He was born in Prairie View, Texas on June 10, 1941 to Roy Earl Hopkins and Ellen Gertrude (McDonald) Hopkins. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Bobbi Walker.
Left with cherished memories is his loving wife of 24 years, Sylvia; son Earl Wayne Hopkins; son Bubba Hopkins & wife Correna; son Roy Hopkins & wife Nicole; son Jacob Hopkins; son Marcus Almanza & wife Sandie; Daughter Sandra Acosta & husband Juan; daughter Codi Hopkins & husband Michael; daughter Cathy Carbajal; daughter Karen Moya & husband Paul; daughter Stephanie Almanza; 25 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Molly Hopkins McCluskey & husband John and numerous other family loved ones and beloved friends.
Cody was born into the trucking business. He learned it from his father, and eventually took over the day to day operation and management. Like his father before him, Cody has left the management and operation of the family trucking business to his sons, ensuring its continued longevity and success.
When he wasn’t working, Cody enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends at a visitation 6-8pm Thursday February 11, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Funeral Service will be 10:00am Friday February 12, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Seagoville, Texas where Cody will be laid to rest in the Garden Of Scriptures.
