Obituary

William Marvin Kryger, 82, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 22nd, 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes, Kansas City, MO, with burial following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21st, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., at St. Thomas More, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. William was born June 29, 1932 in Lincoln NE. William Marvin Kryger, 82, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 18, 2014. William was born June 29, 1932 in Lincoln NE. His parents were Walter & Anne (Brady) Kryger. He graduated from Cathedral High School in Lincoln in 1951. He attended Benedictine College in Atchison, KS for two years. He then went into the Army for two years. After his time in the Army, he returned to Benedictine College graduating in 1957. After college he returned to Lincoln to work at Kryger Glass Co; a company his Father started in 1947. On April 23rd, 1960 he married Norma Joyce of Omaha, NE., of this union 4 children were born; Brad, Bill (Liz), Anne (Greg) & Kyle (Jill). He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy. In April 1970, he moved to Kansas City, MO and started Kryger Glass in North Kanas City. The company moved to its current downtown location in 1986. He leaves to mourn, his wife, his children and 9 grandchildren. He loved being Catholic and was a member of St. Thomas More Church since 1976; regularly attending 6:15am Mass. He also loved golf, belonging to Blue Hills Country Club for 40 years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the charity of your choice or memorial contributions to St. Thomas More Church.
