William C. McClure age 85, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 5:12 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. William was born February 12, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Harry B. & Ruth (Bucklew) McClure.
William is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis A. (Godown) McClure whom he married August 20, 1960; daughters & son-in-law, Cheryl & Larry Lanich of Greeley, Colorado and Vicki Delk of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Dana & Dean Flanery of Greenville, Ohio, Jennifer & Brian Froman of Greeley, Colorado, Amanda Blehm of Greeley, Colorado, Ryan & Jennifer Lanich of Evans, Colorado, Melissa Loudermilk of Tipp City, Ohio and Christopher & Melody Lanich of Somerville, Ohio; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Jane & Richard Pruitt of Dayton, Ohio; brother & sister-in-law, Dennis & Margaret McClure of Arlington, Texas; and 2 nieces.
William was a graduate of Monroe High School in Preble County. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. William was a truck driver for 34 years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Greenville Veteran's Honor Guard prior to services at funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Care.
