Obituary

William (Bill) Lee Myers, 75 of San Angelo, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Family visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A celebration of William's life will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. William was born on October 11, 1938 in Abilene, Texas to Elmo and Gwendola Myers. William was born on October 11, 1938 in Abilene, Texas to Elmo and Gwendola Myers. He was a preacher of the Gospel and former Pastor of the Bible Baptist Church in Cisco and the Bible Baptist Church in Menard.
He graduated from Arlington Baptist College in 1976 and married Brenda J. Daves on February 14, 1981 at the Baptist Tabernacle in San Angelo. He joined the U.S. Army after high school and served for three years. He was called back to duty during the Berlin Crisis and served another year in Korea, guarding the Demilitarized Zone.
William was an entrepreneur. He ran Myers Mowing Service from 1980 to 1993. In 1994, he started Myers and Associates Insurance. He was an avid sports fan, but he really loved baseball. He loved the Atlanta Braves, and he was even scouted by the Milwaukee Braves in 1954. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his parents; middle brother Elmo E. (Buster) Myers; sister in-law Mildred Myers; brother Owen A. Myers; sister Nelda Avant; and grandson Matthew Schkade. Survivors include his beloved wife Brenda; sons: Matthew Lee, Mark Stephen and wife Andrea, and Michael Luke and wife Christina Dawn; daughter Lisa Denise Pomar and husband Renè; sister Theola Hardin and husband RJ; brother Wilford (Sonny) Myers and wife Nell; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
