Willie D. "Buck" Wagner, 82, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away September 9th, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16th at 3.30 P.M. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 2:30 P.M. also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Downs Syndrome Foundation.

Willie was born in Nola, Arkansas in November of 1934. He was most proud of forming a gospel group named "The Wagner Quartet" along with his Father, Brother and Niece in the early 1950's. He soon met his wife to be, Madalene Faye Wagner at one of their singings. They were married in Arkansas on May 22, 1954.

Willie and Madalene moved to the KC area in 1955. He started work as a line operator at Certain-Teed Fiberglass. Later he became a storeroom manager. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. Willie retired after 42 years of service.

Willie had many interests, including bowling, hunting, fishing and playing baseball. Willie has received many rewards competing in these sports. He enjoyed watching the KC Royals, KC Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks. After Retirement he went on be in the top of his class at small engine school. Willie then was known as the "lawnmower man".

Willie was preceded in passing by his parents; Alonzo and Gertie Wagner, Brothers; Armon and Obie D. Wagner, Sisters; Elmo Hayes, Alyene Watkins, Monelle Carter and twin sister Winnie V. Carter. He is also preceded in passing by his son Jackie Wagner, and his granddaughter, Becky.

Willie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Madalene Faye Wagner who now resides in Topeka, Ks; Son - Jerry Michael Wagner of Olathe, Ks; Son - Donald Ray (Elizabeth) Wagner of Olathe, Ks; Daughter - Donna Kay (Joe) Seley of Topeka, Ks; Son - Gary Dean (Tammy) Wagner of Tonganoxie, Ks.; and 18 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren.

You were a great father in law, I loved your snarky humor and the way you had with my kids. You will always hold a special memory in my heart. Your singing was extraordinary.
