How sad I am to learn of the passing of your mom...my friend and colleague. We taught together at Going Elementary and were both members of the Gamma Kappa chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Although, we had not kept in touch in recent years, I thought of her often. She was a fine person, mother, and educator. She will be missed by family, but also, by many, many friends. You are all in my prayers.

Dear Bishop Family,
I'm writing this for Frances Nelson, former teacher at Going, & a friend of Jean's. She lives at St. Martin's In The Pines & asked me to express her deepest sympathy to the family. I knew your mother while working for Birmingham Schools & then became re-acquainted when she moved to Town Village where my mother lived until her death in Nov. Jean and mother were good friends and I will always remember her for her gentle spirit and sweet smile. May God bless you in the coming days as you grieve & adjust to life without a dear mother. I share your grief as does Frances. Warmly, Vicky Davis & Frances Nelson

Mrs. Bishop was a teacher and principle of C.J. Going when my, brother, sister and I went there.(1970's)I can still see her in her office, trying to straighten me out! It worked! She was a great teacher with an abundance of knowledge. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

So sorry for the loss of your sweet Mom. I worked for Mr. Bishop when he was City Architect. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bishop were wonderful individuals and had my deepest respect. May your faith and support of family and friends sustain you.
