Wilma Olive Davis, age 90, resident of Columbus, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Savannah Grand, Columbus. Private graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Wynnton Room of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5-7 p.m.
Ms. Davis, daughter of the late Charlie C. Olive and Annie Mae McCord, was born June 24, 1926 in Harris City, Georgia. She was retired from Alabama Power where she worked faithfully for over 30 years. Ms. Davis was Methodist by faith and enjoyed the outdoors, living on Lake Seminole, and fishing.
Ms. Davis was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Olive Urquhart, Francis Hale, and Margaret MacArthur; and two brothers, Charlie H. Olive and Harry Brawner Olive. She is survived by one daughter, Suzette Thomas McGowen and her husband William of Washington, Pennsylvania; one son, Robert W. Thomas and his wife Pam of Hamilton, Georgia; one granddaughter, Jennifer Crosby and her husband Ashley of Columbus; one step-grandson, Chris Childress and his wife Meghan; two great-grandchildren, Kason Luke Crosby and Greyson Kinser Crosby; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to your local human society.
