Obituary
Wilson Grady Washington was the eldest son of Robert and Zertie Washington of Memphis, TN. He was born May 22, 1929 at John Gaston Hospital in Memphis, TN. Wilson graduated from Manassas High School in Memphis and immediately join the army where he served 6 years. He was a very good student and soldier. After his return from the army in 1953 he moved to Chicago and became a bus driver for Chicago Transit Authority. There he met and married his wife Evelyn. Through the years Wilson worked hard and lived a life of loving, caring and nurturing of his family. He and his wife joined Apostolic Church of God in Chicago where he sang in the men's Chorus. In January of 2012 Wilson's stepson Carl had to put him in a Nursing home because of his failing health. He was in Symphony Nursing Home until Dec. 2017 then was transferred to Holy Cross Hospice Care where he died on Dec. 31st. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Washington, his parents Robert and Zertie Washington, his sisters Ruby Washington Wright (Jimmy), and Augusta Washington and his brothers James and Rodger Washington. He leaves to mourn his passing his stepson Carl Lambert, his sisters Gloria Marsh, Barbara Washington (Prescott) Chambliss, Carolyn Norman (Joseph), and Margaret Washington Jeffries, his brother Waddell Washington (Earnestine) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
