Born September 4, 1923 in Alma, the daughter of the late Clair and Essie (Stearns) Kramer, passed away November 16, 2012 at the age of 89. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; brothers, Clark, Whitey and Dick; sister Jule; and the father of her children, Jack Grow. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Bob (Kathy) Grow, and Pamela (Vern) Shaffier; grandchildren, Tina, Ashley, Jon, Brandey and Angela; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Beth and Sherry; brother, Merriett; sisters-in-law, Henrietta and Diana Kramer; step-children, Pat Quigley and Michael Pontz; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend Kevin Foran. Elaine was born and raised in Lansing. She enjoyed many years with Jack at Montcalm Lake and later, winters in California with Harold. Elaine loved dancing, parties, golf, playing cards, shopping with her girls and the casino with her sisters. She was also an avid Tigers fan. Her family meant the world to her and she loved the time that they shared together. She loved and enjoyed her cats Molly and Lovella. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Clarebridge Memory Care for their compassionate care of Elaine. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. For those desiring contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage, 801 S. Waverly Rd., Ste. 304, Lansing, MI 48917 or Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906 in memory of Elaine.
