Winifred H. Randleman, age 95, was born on July 17, 1917 to William A. and Viva (Heil) Nelson. She passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. She graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1935, Santa Ana Junior College in 1937, and Antelope Valley College in 1972. She married Donald D. Randleman on October 7, 1938. She worked at Apollo Field during World War II in Lancaster, California, NASA from 1963 as a Research Library Tech and later a computer programmer at NASA (Edwards Air Force Base). Winifred H. Randleman, age 95, was born on July 17, 1917 to William A. and Viva (Heil) Nelson. She passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013.

She graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1935, Santa Ana Junior College in 1937, and Antelope Valley College in 1972.
She married Donald D. Randleman on October 7, 1938. She worked at Apollo Field during World War II in Lancaster, California, NASA from 1963 as a Research Library Tech and later a computer programmer at NASA (Edwards Air Force Base). She retired from NASA in 1981. After her retirement from NASA she traveled the world to places like China, England, Germany and many other European nations. She traveled and explored extensively in the United States including Alaska.

She was an Antelope Valley Hospital Volunteer, Birthday Club and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lancaster. She enjoyed knitting booties and hats for the newborns at Antelope Valley Hospital, reading, watching jeopardy, & doing crossword puzzles that appeared in the Valley Press.

She is Survived by her children Christina L. Smith (Clarence) of Lancaster, Robert D. Randleman (Susan) of Riverside, grandchildren Aaron M. Smith (Mecaila) of Fremont, Brian C. Randleman of Riverside, & Paul R. Randleman of Riverside; nieces and nephews, Phylis Hodges of San Bernardino, Jack and Judy Hendricks of Bakersfield, Mike and Mary Bieger of La Quinta, & Jack and Carolyn Walker of Marysville.
Winifred is preceded in death by her husband Donald D. Randleman, her sister Laura Kelly and her mother Viva Gossett. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary, Lancaster. The family would like to thank Hoffman Hospice, a very special thanks to the Birthday Club ladies & to all employees at the Lancaster Health Center who cared for and treated Ms. Winifred during her final days, you all are truly angels! A Heartfelt thanks to all who loved Winifred!
