July 12, 1934, Winston McAfee was born to the union of E.C. McAfee and Thelma Glazier in Haskell, Oklahoma.
He attended Wheatley Elementary and Manual Training High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the Navy, serving in California.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma at age 12. He later joined the Swope Parkway Church of Christ in Kansas City, MO. In 1954 he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Glenn. Together they raised five children.
Winston had many occupations including General Motors, Oakland, CA; Remington Arms, Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and Graham Truckline before starting his own business. He was owner and chief operator of "McAfee's House and Window Cleaning Service" for over 30 years, respectfully known as "Boss Man" by his employees.
Overall, Winston was a "people person" and a great conversationalist. He loved all kinds of music: Gospel, Jazz, and Blues were some of his favorites. He was also a sports enthusiast, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, win or lose.
Winston transitioned from this life on Friday, September 20, 2013. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother, Johnnie Bruce Gordon and a granddaughter, Tyanian Thomas.
Winston leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 58 years, Barbara McAfee; three sons, Ronald (Sue) and Glenn "Butch", of Kansas City, MO; and Bruce of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Teri and Shakeita of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.
