Winthrop Herman Davis of North Port Fl. Passed away on Aug 16 at the age of 87 at the Tidewell Hospice home in Port Charlotte Fl. Mr Davis was born in Brooklyn N Y. He moved at a young age to Central Falls R. I. He was the son of Herman W Davis and Bertha Girouard Davis. After his service to this country in the U S Navy during W. W. II aboard the LST 988 in the Pacific he moved to Lincoln R. I. where he worked as a stone mason and brick layer. Winthrop Herman Davis of North Port Fl. Passed away on Aug 16 at the age of 87 at the Tidewell Hospice home in Port Charlotte Fl. Mr Davis was born in Brooklyn N Y. He moved at a young age to Central Falls R. I. He was the son of Herman W Davis and Bertha Girouard Davis. After his service to this country in the U S Navy during W. W. In 1958 he moved his family to Sandwich where he worked in the construction industry building residential homes until his retirement. At that time he moved to North Port Fl. to enjoy his senior years.

Mr Davis is survived by two sons, Bradford Davis and wife Margaret of Manchester Me. and Wayne Davis and wife Deborah of Sandwich Ma, two daughters. Claudia Costa and husband Bill of Reeds Spring Mo. and Wendy Clark and husband Al of Branson Mo. He has 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister Anita Birchall of Sandwich.

Mr Davis was predeceased in death by his wife Doris LaFrance Davis and his son Brian T. Davis.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, August 21 at 1:3p.m. at The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
