Yale J. Pava, D.D.S. of Manhasset Hills, New York, born September 8, 1923 to Nathan and Anna Quint Pava, died on April 12, 2014 after a brief illness. Yale was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Freda, their beloved and talented daughter, Alyssa Claire, by his sisters Clara, Esther and Pearl and their respective spouses. He is survived by his wonderful and caring nephews, nieces, great and great great nieces and nephews, by his sister-in-law, Evelyn, and by many lifelong friends.

Yale was a graduate of Yeshiva Torah VaDath, Townsend Harris High School, C.C.N.Y. N.Y.U. (1946 D.D.S.) and Columbia University School of Public Health (1970, M.P.H.).
Captain Pava served as a dentist in the U.S. Army, including 13 months in the Aleutian Islands.

Yale, a lover of classical music, enjoyed the concerts and recordings of Alyssa, who was principal cellist for New York Concert Royal and Dallas Bach Society orchestras.

Dr. Pava spent most of his career with the N.Y.C. Department of Health (1954-1987). He became Director of all dental programs for the Health Department in 1974. In 1985 he was appointed as Assistant Commissioner of the Health Department. He was also an adjunct professor at C.U.S.P.H. and the Dental Hygiene Department at Brooklyn Community College.
