Yolanda Lozano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 19, 2017.

Yolanda C. Lozano, age 62, passed away May 17, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 19, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas to Juan and Soledad Valdez. Her life revolved around her grand kids. They were her world. She was a woman of faith and love. She would give you her shirt off her back, but if you messed with her children, you were going to know who she was. She was the "queen" of garage sales. Yolanda graduated from Sidney Lanier High School, Class of 1973. She worked at the Hyatt Regency Resort for 11years.She loved her family very much. Her favorite drink was strawberry margaritas with sugar. She Loved her husband, Manuel with all her heart (que ajuanté), she would say. They would dance to their song "Reloj". My Mom will be missed very much by all of us. She didn't want anyone to be sad. She wanted us to celebrate her life and never forget any memories we shared with her. Anytime you see a Red Bird, think of her. She would pick up coins off the ground and say they were angels watching over us. We love you Mom, Yolanda, Yoli- La mera-mera. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Manuel D. Lozano; children, Ruben Martinez III, Valerie L. Martinez and husband Michael, Yvette C. Lozano; grandchildren, Izabella Martinez, Analisa Martinez, Adrian Santillan, Isaiah Santillian, Micaela Martinez, Michael Anthony Martinez Jr.; sisters, Sylvia C. Lopez and Jane Valdez-Antey; brother, Martin Valdez; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 6 pm to 9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday May 25, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Rd. Service will conclude at the church.

Lozano family - I was saddened and shocked to hear about the passing of your beloved wife and mother. Yolanda was my first boss back at Psyc Corp and taught me things that have helped me get to where I am today. She was more than a boss: she was a mom, a mentor, and a dear dear friend. She was wise beyond her years and kind beyond her heart. I will never forget. Rejoice knowing she deeply touched the lives of so many.
