I was one of the original 7 students when Mr.Ahn came to Peabody in 1968. During those years I became a part of the family. Once he asked me to baby sit his children, young Ho, Jun and baby Ann Marie. He also asked me to teach his two boys since they would not listen to him.in 1978 I moved to San Francisco to do graduate studies at the GTU in Berkeley. I lost touch with him. In 2008 we made contact again. For the next 5 years Mark, Lauren, Brenda and I gathered together in May to play music, drink and eat a wonderful dinner prepared by his beautiful wife. My Brother Bob would join us. Uncle Ahn as he asked me to call him was mor than a teacher and mentor but family. For all of us who knew him he was a blessing and a gift of God. Eternal rest grant to him and let perpetual light shine upon him. REV Monsignor David Link

Mr. Ahn was my violin teacher since the 3rd grade. I adored having him as my violin teacher from 3rd grade until 10th grade. He is the reason I love music. I recently found out he passed away. My heart broke. Yet, it made me recollect the days I was taught by him inside his home in Owen Brown. RIP Mr. Ahn.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of such an honored teacher, both in Korea and the US. I fondly remember playing Bartok duets in his home on Belvedere Ave.

Dear Mrs. Ahn and family,

I am very sorry for your loss and have such fond memories of Dr. Ahn. When I first came to Peabody over 25 years ago, he welcomed me warmly and I learned much in observing him over the years. I always appreciated his musicianship, sincerity and professionalism, and was proud to be his colleague.

I am sorry that I was not in town for the service, and my thoughts are with you.

Mr. Ahn was such a kind and caring person. I was one of his first students when he came to teach at Peabody Conservatory in 1968, he was so wonderful to work with and inspiring. Upon graduation, I became a teacher in Baltimore County Public School system and always remembered his kind words with my classes and students. He was an inspiration to many and will be missed. Many prayers and thoughts are with your family.
