Yoshiko Kato Ridgway, age 86 of Baltimore, died on Saturday, June 17, 2017. She was born October 25, 1930 to the late Asazo and Yoshi Kato. She was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. Yoshiko met her husband, John Ridgway, in Tokyo at 7:30 PM on June 24, 1947, while he was serving in the United States Army. They were married for 69 years and died within 19 days of each other. Yoshiko is survived by her children George Ridgway, Dawn Czajkowski, and Jackie White, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her sister, Akiko. Her husband and two sons, John and Gregory Ridgway, predeceased her. A viewing will be held at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park on Friday, June 23, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. A memorial service will immediately follow at 6:00pm. Flowers are accepted. Memorial donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
