Yun Kuen Cheung, age 82, of Catonsville, Maryland passed away on Monday January 21, 2013. Mrs. Cheung was born in Guangdong Province, in the city of Enping, village of Loong Jiang (Dragon Creek), in China on February 23, 1930 Ng Yun Kuen. She married Yim Wan Cheung in 1947 and raised five children. Mrs. Cheung emigrated to Baltimore, Maryland in 1967, where she and her husband became successful restaurateurs, owning and operating a total of four restaurants in Baltimore and Howard Counties. She exemplifies love and courage, having survived multiple Japanese incursions into her village during World War II, escaping from communist China to Hong Kong with two of her surviving five children. After many trials, she was eventually reunited with all of her children after emigrating to the United States. She continued these efforts after her husband passed away in 1989 and helped raise her grandchildren with same level of love, courage and tenacity.

With her love for family and generosity of heart, Ms. Cheung and her late husband helped bring over many of their relatives from China to settle in the U.S.
