Mr. Bass was an unbelievable man who always had a smile on his face and a hug to give. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. I can't imagine a high school baseball game without him sitting behind home plate. Mr. Bass made life feel that much better. My thoughts, love and prayers go out to the Bass family. ---D.Smith

I wanted to express my condolences to the wonderful family of Zay Bass, I was so sorry to hear of his passing. He was an amazing, articulate, and intelligent man, as well as my father's best friend. I will always remember his sense of humor, and the loyalty that he showed to his family and friends. He came to so many procedures, that my father endured, and gave me and my father strength and support. I also remember the wonderful things he said about my father at my father's service, we were so comforted and charmed by his words . I will sorely miss him, but know that we will all meet again someday ....

I remember him visitng the Hilltop in DC and keeping us laughing and amused. It was always like one of my relatives had come to town. Whenever the Georgetown crew would visit Miami, Mr Bass would always make us feel like part of his family. The sodas on the back porch and the infamous Domino's story always bring a chuckle (evan after all these yesrs). He will be sorely missed and certainly was one of the all time greats. My family's thoughts and prayer are with the Bass Family.
