Granville, IL – Joan Mary Hamlin, 79, of Granville, passed away at 10:57 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at her daughters' home in Oglesby.
She was born Aug. 30, 1930 in St. Louis, MO to Agnes Kennedy and Frank Salomo. She was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Leta and Erwin Salomo, who have preceded her in death. She was also preceded by one brother, Frank Kennedy.
Surviving are four children, Susan (William) Meyers of Granville, Nancy (Mike) Ptak of Oglesby, Paul (Julie) Schlingman of Vail, AZ, Lori (Jeff) Carey of Cedar Rapids, IA; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine (Robert) McCormick of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Joan worked for the Gonet Ins. Co. in Granville. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Granville where she volunteered at the resale shop.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at the United Church of Christ in Granville. There will be no visitation. Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel in Chillicothe, IL is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Margarets Hospice in Spring Valley, IL.
