Charles D. Wright, age 77, of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday Sep. 2, 2010 at 1:55 a.m. at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Feb. 3, 1933 in Arkansas to Bill and Leona Wright. He first married Betty S. Chew Sep. 21, 1957 in Peoria. She passed away June 10, 1998 in Chillicothe. He later married Wilma Martin May 1, 1999 in Chillicothe. She survives along with Charles's two daughters: Regina (Rick) Simmons of Marion, IN, Tracey (Marty) DeCrane of Polo, IL, one step-daughter, Wilda Martin of Chillicothe and one step-son, Barry Martin of Chillicothe.
He was preceded in death by Betty, his first wife, one infant daughter, Teresa Wright, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Charles was a Korean War Navy Veteran. He worked for General Telephone Company starting in 1957 and retired after 30 plus years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, member and past president of the Chillicothe Casting Club, and a Master Mason at the George Washington Masonic Lodge #222 in Chillicothe.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. followed by a memorial service and Masonic Rights on Sunday, September 5th at the funeral home at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel in Chillicothe. Burial of cremains will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery at a later date.
