Mr. Horace Graham was born June 6, 1944 in Brevard, North Carolina the youngest of three children of his mother the late Luneal and father the late Benny Graham.
Horace graduated from York Road High School of Charlotte, North Carolina. At a young age Horace joined the United States Army on March 22, 1966 and had many deployments during his tenure in the United States Army until his retirement in 1986 at Fort Hood, Texas.
He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the Expert Badge Rifle.
In 1979 Horace joined in Holy Matrimony to his wife, Lucille Elizabeth Mooney of Brevard, North Carolina, They were married on May 15, 1979 in Ashville, North Carolina. This union was blessed with two daughters.
After retiring as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army he began to work for Lockheed Corporation at various locations in the United States and overseas. He also worked for BAE Systems on Fort Hood.
Horace was preceded in death by his parent and a sister.
He is survived by his lovely wife , Lucille Elizabeth Graham of Killeen; two daughters, Crysta Shirleen Graham and Jewel Elizabeth Graham both of Killeen; a son Eric (Janice) Graham of Alexandria, Louisiana; former daughter-in-law Elizabeth Graham of Memphis, Tenn; One brother Benny Graham of Queens, NY, two Sister-in-laws Shirley Mooney of Pisgah Forest, NC, Roselita Harper of Charlotte, NC, two brother-in-laws Melton Mooney of Pisgah Forest, NC, and Benny (Mildred) Mooney of Hendersonville, NC; seven grandchildren LaDiamond, LaDejanae Graham and Taureon Antwoin Graham Stone of Killeen; Erica Graham of Memphis, Tenn and Ebony, Sabrina and Derick Graham of Alexandria, LA., one great grandson, Willi Jamison (Fat Daddy) and a host of nieces and nephews.
The Graham family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with District Elder Lester H. McCombs, officiating. Interment services will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with full military honors.
