.Thelma Jean Hart, 86, of Marshall formerly of Albion passed away Wednesday May 25, 2011 at Verona Adult Foster Care in Marshall. She was born June 3, 1924 in Sheridan Township to Clarence and Alice Marian (Phelps) Nolan. She was married to James Henry Hart December 11, 1970 and he preceded her in death March 5, 1979.
She has been a resident of the area all of her life, She was a 1941 Graduate of Washington Gardner High School. She worked as a Secretary at Albion Industries and Michigan National Bank. She was a member of the Albion Elks Lodge # 1798, a 1970 Ladies Golfing Champion at Tomac Woods Golf Course- Albion, and she loved playing Cards.
She is survived by 3 Stepdaughters Lucretia (Gerald) Weddigen of Detroit; Sarah "Sally" (Morris) Goodman of Dearborn; and Nancy (Thomas) Paterson of Edina, MN; 1 Stepson Benjamin (Cheryl) Hart of Ashburn, VA. 11 Grandchildren Jane, Stuart, Benjamin, Suzanne, and Clifton Paterson; James and John Weddigen, Eliza Hart Aliotta, Andrew and Alexander Goodman, Steven Butzier; 2 Great Grandchildren Tate Weddigen and Lucy Aliotta.2 Sisters Winifred (Rex) VanArman of Marshall and Eleanor (Gilbert) Elmer of Albion; 1 Brother Richard Nolan of Eaton Rapids. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and stepson James Hart Jr.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be Friday May 27, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the ERIE STREET CHAPEL of the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 208 West Erie Street, Albion, MI 49224. Funeral Services will be Saturday May 28, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Kirk Haas officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery-Albion.
