Robert "Bobby" Alvin Harris, III, a Bend resident passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at St. Charles Medical Center - Bend. He was 63 years of age.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 10am at Juniper Haven Cemetery in Prineville, Oregon. Bishop Shane Pope of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; Prineville 1st Ward will conduct. Fellowship reception at the Latter-day Saints Church following the Graveside.
Robert was born in Prineville, Oregon on March 2, 1948 to Robert Alvin, Jr. & Glenda L. (Culpitts) Harris.
He was raised & educated in Prineville, and graduated from Crook County High School in 1966. He was an outstanding athlete and held several school records.
Robert worked in steel building construction in his later years.
Bob enjoyed motocross riding in the Mohave dessert in his younger years he loved to water ski and spent as many days as possible skiing on the Ochoco reservoir and Prineville Reservoir. He loved animals and especially his dauchsund "Jelly". He was an avid sports fan; especially Oregon Ducks. His motto was "I did it MY way".
Robert is survived by his, fiancé; Janet Schertenlieb of Bend, Sons; Joseph LaChapelle of Bend, Ronald Hugh Harris of Prineville, Robert Richard Harris of Portland, Oregon, and Justin Wayne Harris & Katie of Kennewick, Washington. Daughters; Tracy Lynne Weston & her husband Mike of Prineville, Kristie Lenore Harris of Prineville, his mother Glenda Pancake of Powell Butte, Sister; GlenEllen Hudspeth & her husband Alan of Powell Butte.
Aunts & Uncles; Ruth Olsen, Van Harris, Gerald Harris, Mary Anne Harris, Ronald Harris Vickie Storey, Les Robertson. Sixteen grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild, numerous nieces & nephews, including; Shannon H. Lepin, Todd A. Hudspeth both of Prineville, Mason L. Lockwood of Pendleton, Halie E. Wilkins & her husband Michael, and Mikel R. Harris all of Prineville.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother; Darwin in 1993 & grandparents.
