Mr. Alpha J. Watkins

Graveside services for Alpha J. Watkins, will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, Sept. 2nd , at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton. Burial will follow in the Veterans Cemetery, with Stephens Funeral Home of DeKalb in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Watkins, age 86, of Kosciusko, formerly of DeKalb, went to his eternal home on Sunday, Aug. 28th, at Veterans Home in Kosciusko.
Survivors include 2 sons: Jonathan Watkins and wife, Kathy J. and Wiley R. Watkins and wife Crystal all of Meridian; a daughter: Kathy L. Watkins of Meridian; one granddaughter Ashley Watkins of Starksville; 3 sisters: Ester Wilson and husband, Starlen of DeKalb, Rufina Gully of Preston, and Omega Herrington and husband Grady of Meridian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Chester and Maggie Robinson Watkins, and a sister, Jemima Powell.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home in DeKalb.
