Belva Dianne (Dee Dee) Collins Nail, 67, was born, November 3, 1943, in Paris, TX to Master Sgt. Conway Lifford Collins of Logansport, LA and Dorothy Dianne Hardy Collins of Jackson, MS.
Ms Nail was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Jackson, MS in 1950. She was educated in the public school systems in Jackson, MS and in New Orleans, LA. Ms Nail retired from Fed Ex Freight in Richland, MS as the night office manager.
She was previously employed with MobileCom Telecommunications in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Business Systems in Pearl, MS, Prassel Lumber Company in Jackson, MS and Magna American Corporation in Raymond, MS.
Ms Nail was preceded in death by her mother, father and half sister, Dorothy Gene Vinas of New Orleans, LA. She is survived by her daughter Ann Marie Hicks (Bart) of Montpelier, VA; her son William Eric Nail (Christina) of Zachary, LA; her brother Jack Norman Collins of Panama City, FL; an uncle William Hugent Nelson of Huntsville, AL; and her grandchildren Mason Elliot Hicks and Rachel Ann Hicks of Montpelier, VA. She also leaves behind her longtime companion cat, Motzie. Her two children were the loves of her life.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home, 350 High Street, Jackson, MS. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
The family prefers memorials to be made in Ms Nail's honor to the Diabetes Wellness & Research Foundation, 5151 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Suite 420, Washington, DC 20016.
