Vassalboro- Ruth A. Priest, 91, went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 18, 2011; with her long-time companion John Cardia, friends; Christine O'Rourke and Mary Vannah by her side. She was a member of the North Vassalboro Baptist Church all of her life. A member of the North Vassalboro Friendly Club and the Vassalboro Historical Society.

Ruth helped her parents grow and harvest vegetables and tend to their herd of dairy cows and delivered milk in her horse and cart. Ruth had a passion for cooking and a love for people. She enjoyed flower gardening and each year should say "this is my last year" but she would plant even more flowers the following year. Ruth also tried planting a vegetable garden for a few years. She started seeing a new world for her from 1998-2003. She began taking trips to Canada with her companion John Cardia and friends Jerry and Mary Vannah. First she traveled by a van; staying in hotels and motels, then 2000 she traveled in style, camping in a travel trailer. She traveled to Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick Canada and to many other towns and cities.

Ruth is survived by many cousins; Norman and Joyce Richmond, Susan Grenier, Patti Gagne, Ellen Richard, Caroline Smith, Sandra Smith and Sally Pratt, Roberta Curtis Yeaton and many good friends.

Special Thanks to Health reach Services and especially Nurse Mae.
