Mary Margaret Knakmuhs 94 of West Salem, Illinois passed away Saturday October 22nd, 2011 in Newburgh, Indiana.
She was born August 29th, 1917 at Noble, Illinois a daughter of James E. and Grace E. (Newlin) Diel. She married Floyd Knakmuhs May 28, 1949 at the Moravian Church in West Salem, Illinois and he preceded her in death in 1990. She was a retired school teacher for teaching for over 17 years, a member of the IRTA, a member of the Moravian Church and of the Moravian Women's Fellowship and the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include two daughters; Cynthia (Cindy) Bristow of West Salem, Illinois and Mary Ann Knakmuhs of Olney, Illinois. Sisters; Esther Wells of Olney, IL, Sylvia (Eugene) Moore of Newton, IL, Nellie Ambers of Collinsville, IL, Gladys Fitzpatrick of Dousman,WS, Audra Shan of Olney, IL, Marilyn (Verne) Bear of Paris, IL and sister-in-law JoAnn Diel of Caseyville, IL. Grandchildren Bruce Delancy, Nathan Delancy and Naomi Knakmuhs and great grandchildren Devon Delancy, Riley Delancy and Gage Harris.
He was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Bruce and 4 brothers.
Services for Mary Margaret Knakmuhs will be at 11 AM Wednesday October 26th, 2011 at the Moravian Church in West Salem, Illinois with burial to follow in the Moravian Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 AM Wednesday till service time at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem, Illinois.
