Hilda Louise Schultz passed away peacefully on April 2, 2012, just 20 days shy of her 96th birthday. Hilda was born on April 22, 1916, in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota, one of five daughters and one son of Grace and Ole Waldahl.
Hilda received her teaching credentials in 1937 from Dickinson State University in North Dakota, she taught multiple grades in one room prairie schools for several years. She traveled to California to attend a friend's wedding and decided to stay. She reunited with a long time North Dakota boyfriend, George Schultz, who also had moved to California to work. Hilda and George were married on February 1, 1942. They had two daughters and one son.
Both Hilda and George worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Southern California during and after WWII. Upon retirement in 1975, they moved to Quincy, California, where they had built a home. Because of the weather and to be nearer to family, they moved to Orchard Shores in Clearlake Oaks in 1990, where they both spent their final retirement years.
Hilda was preceded in death by George, her husband of 61 years, her four sisters, her brother and son-in-law Paul Baldwin. She is survived by daughter, Nadine Baldwin of Vancouver BC, Canada; daughter Joan Poucher and her husband Fred of Hidden Valley Lake; son Ronald Schultz and his wife Debbee of Ukiah; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will remember Hilda for her hard work, dedication and resourcefulness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

Grandma: You were truly an amazing woman. Definitely set the standard high for the type of wife, mother, & cook I wanted to be.... I have nothing but fond memories of our times spent together and yahtzee games, and your homemade cookies and milk with a little dish of ice cream. You were always a ray of sunshine and at times made us laugh so hard we cried. You will be dearly missed but you are home now and reunited once again with grandpa. Until we meet again, I love you & know you'll be watching and protecting us now from above.... WE love you, Shailyn, Jack, McKenna, & Tanner.... xoxo
