Joseph Patrick McGuinn, 57, passed away on Friday June 8th , 2012. Joe is predeceased by his parents, Rita and Martin McGuinn and his sister, Mrs. Joanne DallePezze. He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Meehan McGuinn, his brother and sister-in-law Martin and Ann McGuinn, his brother and sister-in-law Gregory and Denita McGuinn, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Georgia DallePezze, his nieces and nephews, Patrick and Christopher McGuinn, Christina and Peter DallePezze, Katie and Megan McGuinn, and step children Richard Cambareri, and Christine Schaffner and son-in-law, Daniel Schaffner.
Joe was born in Princeton, New Jersey in 1954. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Environmental Design. He did a senior internship at the New Mexico Solar Energy Association and received a certificate from MIT for solar energy systems. Joe was President of Sustainable Associates, a design consulting and project management company.
Joe played lacrosse at Rutgers and coached lacrosse in Maryland for ten years. Additionally, Joe enjoyed playing golf and tennis. Most recently Joe served on the board of the Villamay Homeowners Association and was Treasurer of the Hollin Hills Tennis Club.
Joe will be remembered by his friends and family for his big smile, his wonderful sense of humor, his love for his family and his huge heart. Kathleen will forever cherish the wonderful ten years she had with Joe.
Friends and family will be received at the Demaine Funeral Home in Alexandia June 15th from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church located at 3513 N Street NW in Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joe McGuinn Memorial Fund at Holy Trinity Catholic Church
