Your father was a gentleman's - gentlemen. He was my boss at Booz Allen and I learned more than one could imagine in a life time when I was working with him. He always took time to listen to what the problem was and offered some worldly wisdom to a wet behind the ears consultant. He will be missed.

One of my fondest memories as a child is watching cartoons with Uncle Jim when we would go to visit Grandma and Grandpa. He had to sleep on the couch when we came since we took over his room. We also visited his ships when he was stationed in Honolulu and we were living there. As an adult, I would visit Virginia and he always knew of some obscure exhibit to visit. He was a true gentleman who will be missed by many.

I served with Jim on USS Dennis J Buckley (DD-808) as a young Ltjg. In large part it was his support and leadership that I decided to career the Navy. He had such a positive impact on my life.

Jim made a lasting impression on me; he'd buy flowers every week for his wife and I remember how difficult it was for him when she passed away. He was a true gentleman and a smart guy. It was a privilege to have worked with him at Booz Allen. My sincere condolences. Diana Pettyjohn

Hello James C Froid Family. Please accept my sincerest condolences for the loss of Jim. He was the Captain of the USS Dennis J Buckley, (DD 808) home ported out of San Diego within a week or so after the Buckley got back from my first WestPac Cruise. I've had the pleasure of talking with him on the phone and had some great conversations several times over the last couple of years. I was attached to the D J Buckley from 10 Jan 1969 thru and up until her decommissioning time of July 1973, and I was an ETN-2 while attached. My name is Rick Warrick, and I was in one of the pictures from the WestPac cruise when many of us were used as support actors for the filming of Shirley's World. Again, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Sincerely Rowland (Rick) E Warrick ETN-2 USS D J Buckley

Jim was such an asset to Mount Vernon's Volunteer program. He had the second highest number of hours of any active volunteer and had received a lifetime discount card at our retail stores. His number one asset was being a gentleman, always a gentleman, never anything but a gentleman. We already miss him.

I worked with your dad years ago at Booz Allen, and he made quite an impression. He was such a gentleman, and comported himself with such calm. He was clearly crazy about your mom...and I know it was a huge blow to him when she passed away. Please know that he touched many lives, and will be very fondly and respectfully remembered by his co-workers. Cyndy Karon
