Steven Herman Schwarz, age 61, passed away Friday morning, October 19, 2012 at Sunny Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a resident for the past five years.
Steve was born January 5, 1951 in Sheboygan to Herman C. and Goldie E. (Elmstrom) Schwarz. He was a graduate of Sheboygan South High School, Class of 1969. He served his country in the US Army stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge he earned his Associate Degree in Accounting at Lakeshore Technical College in May of 1975.
On May 20, 1975 Steve and Florence Kurtz were united in marriage. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2008.
Steve was employed in the family business, Schwarz Fish Company as a salesman. He was always the last one to leave work and gladly helped any customer in need.
He was baptized, confirmed and currently a member of St. Paul's UCC in Sheboygan.
His hobbies included playing softball for the Schwarz Fish Co. team and bowling where he managed both teams. He had a passion for fishing, especially for muskies, and enjoyed great annual fishing trips to Canada with friends. He was an avid Chicago Bears, Cubs and UW- Madison fan who enjoyed an occasional cigar with his dad, Herman.
He is survived by his sisters, Linda Schrameyer, Trudy (Michael) Groh, all of Sheboygan, and Kristine (Robert) Klesney of Mattawan, Michigan; his former brother-in-law, Craig Schrameyer of Cascade, WI; his brother-in-law, Norman (Bernadette) Kurtz of Lakewood Ranch, Florida; nieces and nephews, Scott Schrameyer, Nathan Schrameyer, Aaron (Andrea) Groh, Amber (Steve) Casadonte, Anna Klesney, Jason Kurtz, and Scott (Aimee) Kurtz; eight great-nieces and great-nephews, Jackson, Zoe and Mayson Schrameyer, Zachary and Nolan Groh, Elise and Riley Casadonte, and Samantha Race Kurtz; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father, Herman and, most recently, his mother, Goldie, on October 17, 2012.
Combined funeral services for Steve and his mother, Goldie, will be held Monday, October 22, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's UCC, Wedemeyer St. and Union Ave, Sheboygan, WI. Reverend Mark E. Jaberg, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Sympathy to the Schwarz clan. I remember Steve when I was young and lived next door across the alley on Union Ave. He was always the cool guy that had all sorts of different creatures (alligator, spider, snake, etc...)

Sorry for the loss of great family member. Steve was a pleasure to do business with, friendly, jovial, kind, and a real nice guy to boot! I would drive to pick up my order just to have a moment to talk. He will be missed by lots of his friends and customers who all love the Schwartz family.
