Keith Wainwright Obituary

Keith L.Wainwright, 65, of Albion, son of the late Vernon and Garnetta (Mahaney) Wainwright, passed away the evening of December 24, 2012 at Allegiance Hospital of Jackson. He was born February 25, 1947 in Corning, New York.

Keith attended school there through grade 5, when the family moved to Michigan in the late 1950's for Corning Glass Works. He graduated from Washington Gardner High School in Albion in June of 1965 and from Albion College in June of 1969 with a B.A; .majoring in Sociology, and Anthropology with a concentration in History. He also had an additional 18 Hours towards his Masters in History from Western Michigan University. He was also the manager of the football teams for both institutions, admiring the late Albion College Football coach Morley Fraser.

Keith was an Adult Protective Services caseworker for the State of Michigan Department of Social Services for 31 years. His steadfast loyalty to his job and clients will always be remembered and appreciated. He was active in speaking to social groups and was interviewed many times on the Albion Radio station. Keith also was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving as President of the Board of Trustees and taught Sunday school. He was a Non-Parish Representative on the School Board at St. John Catholic School for 6 years.

His suvivors include his childhood sweetheart Mary Anne (Senkulic), whom he married in the First United Methodist Church in Corning, New York on November 27, 1971, 2 Daughters Jennifer Wainwright; and Kimberly (Lee ) Hall Jr.; precious Grandson "Tooter Bug"; 2 Sisters Carole Kirk; Beverly (J) Coleman and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents.

Visitation for Family and Friends will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M., at the Erie Street Chapel of J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 208 West Erie Street, Albion, MI 49224.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00PM at the First United Methodist Church -Wesley Chapel, 600 East Michigan Avenue, Albion, MI., with Rev. Jeremy Williams and Rev. Walter H. Nichols Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery- Albion, MI.

Assistance with Memorial Contributions to: the First United Methodist Church- Capital Campaign Fund, A.S.P.C.A, American diabetes, or the Kidney foundation is available at the Funeral Home.
