Eugene "Gene" DeSuza, 86, of KCMO passed away in his home on April 5th, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth DeSuza and one grandchild, Ricky DeSuza. He is survived by his 5 children, Priscilla Winters, George McGriff (Patty), Venita Finch, Sam McGriff (Rose) and John DeSuza (Tracy) as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gene was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Kirkwood, MO. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and retired from General Motors in 1989. He was a devout member of Claycomo Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Funeral service will be held 10am, Thurs, April 10th, 2014 with visitation 6-8pm, Wed, April 9th at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Chapel, Hwy 169 and Shoal Creek Pkwy. Burial will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Claycomo Baptist Church, 312 E. Longfellow, Claycomo, MO 64119 or the MO Dept. of Conservation, Donations Coord., PO Box 180, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

I've known Gene & little Liz for just a few years bowling with them. Gene gave me his bowling bag and it had Liz's bowling towel in it. All of us at bowling will miss seeing his smiling face and his joking. He was my UAW brother from G.M.. My thoughts & prayers are with his family.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. DeSuza. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
