James "Jim" Jenkins passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 84. Beloved husband of Cora Jenkins for 35 years. Father of Brenda Johns (Kent), James Robert Jenkins (Marsha) and Karen Richardson (John). He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister, Billie Jean Maggiore.
Jim was born in Laurel, MS and is a longtime resident of Jefferson, LA. He was a friend to all and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. We will miss his many stories and quiet conversations. Most of all, we will cherish the memories that we all shared at his camp in Grand Isle.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
