Adored by many and loved by many more, Marion Lillian "Toots"
Severance, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children, at the
age of 76 from natural causes on Monday May 12, 2014 in Pasco,
Washington. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 13, 1937 to
Marion and Lillian Robinson. In 1957 she married James Maurice
Severance.
Marion's faith was so beautiful that it defined her. And what mattered
most to her was sharing it, cultivating it in others, and ultimately
teaching us to trust that, indeed, this is what matters most of all.
Marion loved children, attending mass, teaching, art, music, dance,
children, food, wine, traveling, reading, children and more children!
We have lost a powerful soul, yet because of what she taught us, it is just
a matter of time before we will be reunited again with her.
She is survived by her 8 children, Christy, Randy (Joan), Jaime McGuire
(Kevin), John (Cathy), James, Michael (Gabriella), Mary Olmes (Frank)
and Laura Ellison (Andrew), 43 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren
and her two brothers, Howard and Jerry Robinson.
Marion is preceded in death by her husband James and grandchild
Blaise Olmes.
A Rosary is scheduled for 10:00am. Monday, May 19, 2014 followed by her
Funeral Mass at 11:00am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 2121 S. Rural Rd.,
Tempe, AZ. Entombment immediately following at St. Francis Cemetery,
2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix Arizona 85008.

She had a much larger view on life than most. I was stuck with great sadness when I learned she had died and simply stared at her obituary for a good while through watery eyes as I remembered her, for I knew her well once. Kimball Corson, the Samoan Islands

I just found out about Marion's death. My deepest sympathy. Marion was my high school RE teacher at Most Holy Trinity Parish in Phoenix Az. I was confirmed in 1981 and she graciously excepted my request to be my sponsor. Surely thier is a place in heaven for her. You are all in my prayers

Marion was my best, dearest friend in high school and we shared some of the most fun and walked through some of the hardest times we face in our youth. She was a sweet spirited, soft spoken yet bubbly person. we laughed so much. We drifted away over the years with school, job demands, and raising families but we always have memories.
It is very difficult to lose someone who played such an important part of your life - even a long time ago. I am very sad. To her family I wish my deepest sympathy to you all. I wish I could share memories personally with you.

Got to know Marion over forty years ago thru my association with her husband Jim, who only recently passed away. I have also known most of the children in the family from Chris down to Laura and have always thought a lot of them all. As the matriarch of this large family she must have down something right to raise eight children well. I could go on and on to say many nice things about her but suffice to say this fine woman of great faith and morality will be missed by all. I am saddened by her passing and with the knowledge that she will no longer be around to share our hopes for a better future for family and country. God Bless you, Marion.
