ARMSTRONG, Gwynedd Maureen, nee Rawson, born March 4, 1922, in Brisbane,Queensland, Australia to Edward and Kathleen Rawson. Married W. Frank Armstrong on January 22, 1944. Frank survives his bride of seventy years. Gwynedd was the mother of nine children, whom she loved unconditionally- Frank (Frances), Katie (Robert) Ellis, Sheilah (Douglas) Apple, Gindy (William) Schneller, Rev. Christopher, Loretto (Bruce Evans), Daniel (Eileen), Amy (Thomas) Smith and Campion (Jody); twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. Gwynedd was God's gift to us as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Gwynedd entered eternal life with peace of heart on Friday, May 23, 2014. Gwynedd was preceded in death by her grandson, Douglas "Dougie" Apple, Jr., her parents and her sister, Sheilah Clouston. Gwynedd's sister, Beth Tully (Brisbane, Queensland) survives along with numerous Australian nieces and nephews. Mom gave all of us fond memories, especially in traveling to anywhere there was water and a beach. Gwynedd came to the United States as a WWII bride. She and Frank moved to Kettering in 1950. Gwynedd was involved with St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, her Bridge Club, the Lenox Lane Garden Club, the Dominican Retreat House and the Christ Child Society of Dayton. Dear Family of Father Chris,
You are in my thoughts and prayers for the loss of your mother. She is in peace with the Lord and when I looked at your website photos of her I just totally enjoyed seeing such a spirited, beautiful woman with all her family at her side. You were very fortunate to have a mother with faults and virtues to have these wonderful memories. I didn't have my mother as a child so you sharing your Mom on the website was a treat for me. Bless all of you,

Amy and Family,
My prayers and happy thoughts go out to you and your family. I know from talking to you, Amy, just how special your mom was! I remember talking about her with you when my dad died and the happy stories we shared meant a lot and helped me through a tough time. Here is one of my favorite quotes that I thought I would share:
“He spake well who said that graves are the footprints of angels.” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
There in spirit!
