Concepcion “Concha” P. Rodriguez passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the age of 85. She was born in Taft, Texas, to Fidel and Rafaela Parra on March 10, 1929. Concha was a homemaker and in her spare time, she was an avid walker. She will be remembered and missed by the Taft community.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Mariano J. Rodriguez, Jr. and son-in-law, Jesus Rodriguez, Sr. Concha is survived by her sons, Martin (Alicia) Rodriguez, Juan (Noemi) Rodriguez and Jose Luis (Dolores) Rodriguez; daughters, Carmen (Jesus) Mendez, Amelia Rodriguez and Evangelina Rodriguez; twenty grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren and twenty great-great grandchildren; sisters, Luisa Tovar and Refugia Rivera. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft. Burial will follow the service at Taft Memorial Park.

In six more days it will mark 6 months you left us to be at the right hand of our Father and everyday since youve been gone is harder to face...I keep telling myself that ur just at home and me in another town but then reality snaps when I wanna pik up the phone to call u just to hear your voice like I used too...I miss you so very much Wela and wish I can give you one more tight hug....I will akways carry you in my heart til we meet again.
