Destry "Dusty" Dale Rhodes, 60, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2014 at his residence in Abilene, TX. Graveside services will be 2:00p.m., today, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in the Central Cemetery, 5 miles east of Hawley, TX with Rev. Louis Johnson officiating under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, Abilene, TX. Visitation will be today from 12:00p.m. to 1:00p.m. at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Location located at 542 Hickory St.
Dusty was born on April 9, 1954 in Abilene, TX to the late Edd and Maude Cupps Rhodes. He attended public schools in Abilene and graduated from Abilene High School in 1972. Dusty loved his family and loved his dogs. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edd and Maude Rhodes.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kristi Thomas and Jennifer Rhodes; his three brothers, Larry, Randy, and Kenn Rhodes; two sisters, Adora Rhodes and Connie Alaniz; five granddaughters; one grandson; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Memorials may be made in his name to Rescue the Animals 5933 South 1st, Abilene, TX 79605.
