Annie Mayne Wiggins, 89, of Gastonia, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born in East Fork, NC and was the daughter of the late Memphis and Eliza McMahan Buchanan.
Annie spent most of her life living in McAdenville and retired from Pharr Yarns after working there for 40 years. She was a member of Myrtle United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory is her son, Michael Mayne and wife, Nancy; granddaughter Lu-Ann Anthony and husband Scotty; brothers, Carl and Kenneth Buchanan, sister Bessie Stroud; great grandchildren, Scotty Anthony Jr. and wife Jamie, James Wesley Anthony and Tamara Ann Mayne.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Wesley Mayne, Jr., and second husband, Dwight Vincent Wiggins; step-mother, Mary Higdon, grandson, James Keith Mayne, six brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 5th from 11:00 am until 11:45 am and a service to celebrate her life will follow at 12:00 pm in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Reverend Kim Higgins officiating. Interment will follow the service in Edgewood Cemetery, Lowell, NC.
