Lester Lee "Buddy" Pyle, Jr., 82 of El Dorado-Smackover, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born October 9, 1931, to Lester Lee Pyle Sr. and Bessie Cochran Pyle in Emerson, AR.
He graduated from Wentworth Military College in Lexington, Missouri, also attended University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and Southern State College. He was a business owner and private pilot. He retired as a pilot for the Arkansas State Forestry Service.
He is preceded in death by his wife Martha Kennedy Pyle, parents, sister Dorothy Lee Benson, and nephew Ralph Lee Benson.
He is survived by his wife, Jaunita C. Pyle of Smackover; two daughters, Leslie Kennerly (Mike) of Lufkin, TX, Laura Smith (Sid) of Hattiesburg, MS; step-daughter, Sheri Neely (Ronny) of El Dorado; five grandchildren, Mandy Bonner Camp (Adam) and Rusty Bonner (Alexia) both of Lufkin, TX, Riley Smith (Kolyn) of Picayune, MS, Tiffany Neely and Tabatha Bledsoe (Zach) both of Smackover; five great grandchildren, Chloe and Jace Camp, Mooney Smith, Kasynn Neely, Jonsie Bledsoe; nephews, John S. Benson, Jr. (Andrea), Stone S. Benson, William Lee Benson of El Dorado; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers are John S. Benson, Jr., Stone S. Benson, William Lee Benson, Adam Camp, Steve Ellis, and Darryl Minor.
Visitation was held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Young's Funeral Directors.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 Thursday, July 17, 2014, in Young's Chapel with Rev. Vaughn Blue officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the directions of Young's Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Fire Girls, Hope Landing or the charity of the donor's choice.
