Irma M. Cantu, age 63 went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2014 with her beloved family at her side. Irma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family dearly. She had a great sense of humor and brought laughter to everyone. We will especially miss her homemade meals.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Santiago Ignacio Cantu, Jr. whom she married on February 8, 2003, her children; Jaime, Melissa (David), Christopher, Stephanie, Richard, grandchildren; Minnie, Harley, Joe, Tecolote, mother, Carmen Mireles, brothers; David and Fred Mireles, sisters; Esperanza (Lupe), Christina (Rick), Norma Brenda (Mando), and her boys and girls; Juan (Jennifer) Alejandro (Rita), Carlos (Candace), Mario (Maria). She is also survived by her loving in-laws Juanita (Ruben) Colmenero, along with numerous aunts, uncles and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Luis Mireles, brothers; Jose Alexandro, Miguel Mireles.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening at Colonial Funeral Home, Taft, TX. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Wednesday, October 22, at Immaculate Conception Church, in Taft, Texas. Burial will follow in Taft Memorial Park.
