Harold Robinson, 87, joined his loved ones in heaven Friday, November 21, while at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.
Harold was born December 9, 1926 to the late Ellis Swain Robinson and Mary Lineberger Robinson.
A storyteller at heart, Harold lived a full, adventurous life and always had a clever joke or anecdote to share. The youngest of 11, Harold served in the infantry and graduated from Kings Business College. A retired sergeant, Harold served 34 years on the Charlotte Police Department. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Charlotte and later St John's Lutheran Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Harold was also a member of the Oasis Shrine Salamala Unit.
Always loving and dedicated to his family, Harold and his wife of 60 years, Delores Rhyne Robinson, raised two children, Cindy and Mike. "GRAND"daddy touched the lives of all who knew him. He will forever be "A honey, but the bees don't know it."
Harold is survived by daughter, Cynthia Robinson Carter and husband,Jimmy of Lebanon, TN, son, Pastor Michael Robinson and wife Annette of Gibsonia, PA: two granddaughters, Jennifer Wunderlich and husband Daniel of Christiana, TN and Laura Carter of Lebanon, TN; one great granddaughter, Charlotte Grace Wunderlich; sister in law, Mary Brown Robinson of Dallas, NC: numerous nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Rhyne Robinson, sisters Lucille, Mary, Eula and Jenny and brothers Franklin, Brady, Leonard, Raymond, Charlie, and Robert Robinson.
The family will receive friends at Lutheran Chapel Total Life Center in Gastonia, NC beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25th.
A celebration of Harold's life will follow at 2 p.m. at Lutheran Chapel Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, c/o Oasis Headquarters, 604 Doug Mayes Place, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262.
