Harmon Wesley Harden, 80, of Bessemer City, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas with his loving family by his side. Harmon was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee and was the son of the late John Alfred and Eva Jane Richardson Harden.
Harmon retired as Warehouse Manager with Sterchi's Brothers Furniture Company (Heilig-Meyers Furniture Company) after many years of service. After retiring he was employed at Carothers Funeral Homes. He was a member of Change of Heart Baptist Church, Gastonia.
Harmon loved his "Country Kitchen" family in Dallas where he enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music.
Harmon is survived by his wife of 58 1/2 years, Gracie Irick Harden; two daughters, Karen Shaw and husband Gary of Dallas, Michelle Browne and husband Matthew of Gastonia; sister, Norma Berry of Elizabethton, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Victoria Browne, Leslie Lamb and husband Chris, Angela Jenkins, Matthew Shaw, Allison Shaw; three great grandchildren, Dylan Bradbury, Abigail Lamb, Anna Lamb.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Watts officiating.
Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Sorry for the loss of Harmon. Knowing he is in a better place and no more suffering somewhat eases the grief. However, we know we will meet again. Heartfelt sympathy to all of the family and love and prayers continue for strength and peace in the days ahead.

Harmon was a wonderful man, a true mentor for me @ Heilig-Meyers & a friend. I saw him just what seemed to be a few months ago @ Aker's Pharmacy and he was his jovial, laughing self. Cutting up & joking with everyone around him, including me. Harmon was a truly wonderful & caring man, sincerely faithful to his Maker. He will be deeply missed. God bless you all, now & forever...
