Melvin Miller was my first cousin and although I only met him a few times at Gochenour reunions I did think of him as a member of my family and was always
proud of him.

Melvin and Myrtle were such good friends, my last visit with them both was at the Mennonite Home where they lived next door to my Aunt and Uncle. Our deepest sympathies to Nancy, David and their families. This couple made a difference in the lives of so many people. They were both a moving force at Page County High for many years. God bless such kind people and their families!

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time of sorrow and loss. Mr. Miller was my biology teacher at Page and he was always very professional and caring. I don't remember him telling us about riding his bicycle to and from Virginia Tech. That was an amazing accomplishment! He did mention his interest in weather forecasting and we would hear him on the radio and were so excited when it snowed and he said that "Page County Schools are closed." I also enjoyed the Ruritan activities and frequently sat with him and his wife. He was a dedicated teacher who will be missed, but we have many fond memories to keep his spirit alive!
