Eleanor Wyckoff, age 92 of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. She was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on July 24, 1922 to Landis and Florence (Kring) Saylor. Eleanor previously was a member of Trilby United Methodist Church for over 45 years, where she served on the UMW as treasurer, member of the Chancel Choir, and Sunday School teacher. She taught 3 year olds for 8 years with the Trilby UM Nursery School. She was affectionately called Miss Ellie, except the years that her grandchildren attended, and then was called Grandma. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she participated in the Folding Chairs Drama Club.
Eleanor enjoyed her many trips through the years to McAllen to watch her Texas grandchildren grow up, and her trips back to New York State to visit with her sisters and many other extended family. Her favorite pass time was reading and at one point the family could not keep up providing her with enough new novels.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Cecil Wyckoff, parents, Landis and Florence Saylor, brother, William Saylor and sisters, Dorothy Haas and Janet Hopkins.
Eleanor is survived by her loving family, daughter, Debby (Paul) Iott, son, David (Karen) Wyckoff, of Toledo, grandchildren, Chris (Danielle) Iott, Jennifer (Lucas) Hoel, Diana (Brian) Cherko all of Toledo, Ashley (Patrick) Horn, of Holt, MI, Alex Wyckoff of Durham, NC, great grandchildren, Trystin Cherko, Antonio Cherko, Cailyn Hoel, Ellery Hoel, Adler Iott, Aubrey Horn, sisters, Delores Barton and Carol (Hans) Stoever of New York State.

Funeral service is at 10:00 am in the funeral home on Friday. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania for their care of their Mom.

Debby and families,
Our deepest sympathies for you and the loss of Miss Ellie. Back in late 70's and very early 80's, both our sons, Clint and Chad attended nursery school and Chuck even volunteered to help out with all the boys. She was a wonderful teacher always so patient. But even before that I can still remember your Mom from the church choir. We have thought of her with fond memories. Chuck and Judy Schreiber and Ann Bevington Taylor.
