Delia Faye Hudson, age 93, and a resident of Grace Heights in Morganton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. She was born the daughter of the late Albert and Ida Hudson on September 5, 1921 in Cleveland County.
Delia was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working in her garden. She was known for her wonderful cooking and "Amazing Biscuits". Delia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Delia was preceded in death by two daughters, Infant Barbara Jean White and Martha Ann Webb; a son, Junior Albert White, a former husband, James Clayton White; and four brothers.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include three sons, Rufus Clayton White of Oak Hill, Don White and his wife Mildred, and Jerry White and his wife Carolyn, both of Morganton; two daughters, Betty Brown and Mildred Sheets, both of Morganton; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 11, 2015 in the chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Graveside committal services will be held at 3:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cleveland County.
Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton has the honor of serving the family.

I will miss Delia very much, she was such a sweet little lady and always had a smile on her face. I will always remember the many sweet hugs she gave me and such kind words of wisdom. There will foetever be a place in my heart for this sweet woman and Grace Heights will not be the same without that beautiful smile!

aunt Delia. Was the last of my aunts who was my fathers sister . Iam so glad that I got to visit with her on birthday last year. I will miss her.
