My Ancestral Archetype, My Heritage
Written By Lynn Bergstrom, AKA Idowu Aku
I see my heritage, I see my ancestors
Dancing, singing, rejoicing at the riverside.
I see my grandmother with her ancestors, I see them canning peaches, pears, frying chicken
There is love in the house, there is love in their hearts
I see my ancestors, I see my heritage
Playing cards, playing dominoes, sitting around tables, sitting around the living room.
I see my father with his ancestors, I see them laughing playing cards, playing dominoes, playing games
There is love in the house, there is love in their hearts
I share my ancestors, I share my heritage
Cooking with my father, Cooking with my grandmother
I cook with my mother, I share the legacy
We share our love in the house, we share the love our my hearts
I see my ancestors, I see my heritage
Traveling up the path, the path to the mountain
In family days of past, in family days of now.
They have love in their house, they have love in their hearts
I hear my heritage, I hear my ancestors
Calling me, leading me, transforming me,
Showing me the path, guiding me to the mountain
I am inspired to touch my ancestors, I'm inspired to touch my heritage
To share the love in my house, to share the love in my heart
I see you in my ancestors, I see you in my heritage
Sharing, caring, believing
We eat the peaches, we see our ancestors, we play games, we feel our heritage
We share our traditions, we share our heritage
We share the love of our house, we the share love in our hearts
I see God in my ancestors, I see God in my heritage
There is God in my house, there is God in my heart
