Margaret Tyler White Andrews, of Morganton, was born on July 6, 1954 in Caldwell County and grew up in Happy Valley. She graduated from Lenoir High School in 1972 and then from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1976 with a BA degree in English.
Maggie lived and worked in Winston-Salem from 1980 to 1984, where she worked with Hanes Printables in Customer Service and as Marketing Coordinator.
She lived and worked in Lenoir with her family's business, Greer Laboratories, Inc., for 16 years, beginning as Assistant to her mother Lib White and retiring as Vice-President of Administration in 2000.
In addition to her work life, Maggie volunteered with the Wig Bank of Caldwell County and with the Caldwell County Chamber of Commerce, where she met her husband Tim Andrews. Maggie and Tim married in 1997 and moved to Irish Creek in Burke County in 2003.
Maggie will be remembered as a sweet, intelligent woman with a good sense of humor, who was quick to make friends. She had a kind word for anyone she met and was a loyal friend – always concerned for the lives of others. Her obsessions were daffodils, dogs, warm days and finding typographical errors…she was widely regarded as the very best baker of Toll House Cookies. Her treasures were her husband, her family and her friends. Maggie was easy to love.
Maggie is predeceased by her father William White, her mother Elizabeth Dobbin White and a brother, William White, Jr. She is survived by her husband Timothy L. Andrews and her sisters Elizabeth White Plaster and Josephine Todd White, as well as three niece and three nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church at 806 College Avenue in Lenoir at 2 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015. The families will receive friends after the service in the Hogan Room.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Caldwell Hospice, St James Episcopal Church, The Wig Bank of Caldwell County and Burke Christian Ministries.
Kirksey Funeral Home of Morganton has the honor of serving the family.

Maggie never lost her smile, her laughter or her zest for life...when you were in her presence you had to be happy and just have the warm fuzzies right along with her. Missing my childhood friend, but remembering the memories with love...

I just heard about Maggie. We were in a yoga class together in Morganton. When we first met, we exchanged phone numbers and she asked for my birthday. That year, sure enough, I received a birthday card from Maggie! What a wonderful person. I was so sad to hear of her passing. She will be missed.

I will always remember the first time meeting Maggie at a Chambers of Commerce event in Boone, while working for her husband Tim with Cellular One. Her big beautiful eyes and smile will always be in my memory and her kind heart as well. May she rest in peace and we all reunite one day.

Maggie was one of the kindest, most warm hearted women I have ever known and I feel blessed to have had her in my life, being members of the "outlaws" of the Hoffman family. I will rejoice with her family that she is at peace and give thanks for her life among us. God bless you all, Dotsi Morgan Hoffman ( wife of Fred Hoffman)
