Mabel Dale Taylor, 88, of Morganton, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Burke County, North Carolina on April 21, 1926 to the late James H. and Maude S. Dale. She was married to her husband of sixty one years, Vernon Harold Taylor, who preceded her in death in 2003. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Morganton. She loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with her family, all of whom she loved dearly. She was an animal enthusiast and was particularly fond of dogs and cats. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mae Hamme, Daisy Dale, and Bertha Daye; five brothers, Ed, Les, Lon, Dick and John Dale; and a son in law, Billy White.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Puett White of Clover, South Carolina; a son, Gary Taylor and wife Wilma of Morganton; a sister, Hazel Lindsey of Morganton; four grandchildren, Barry Taylor and wife Donna of Morganton, Jamie Clontz and husband Brandon of Morganton, Wendy Kline and husband Matt of Charlotte, and Kim Puett of Charlotte; and seven great grandchildren, Taylor and Madeline Kline of Charlotte, Kadence and Braylen Clontz of Morganton, Matthew and Jessica Walters of Charlotte, and Lauren Walters of Morganton.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Morganton with Pastor Michael Gantt officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
