I'm sitting on my balcony at the moment, as it is too hot in the night to stay inside. I hear the train passing nearby and people chattering from the apartment behind, everyone's going about their life and I'm here looking up at the stars thinking about you. I miss you, Mama. Everyday. I dream about you and it feels too real. I am happy in my dreams because I can talk to you and be with you and feel the warmth of your hug. I feel your love. But suddenly, I wake up and realize it was just a dream and I try to fall back asleep again just to see you.
It's one of those days, Mama, when I feel defeated from life and I'm trying to stay afloat. I think about the times with you growing up, because those days were justperfect. Realizing now, those days were perfect because you made me feel safe. You protected me from life's struggles and only allowed me to feel love and happiness. You helped raise me to be the person I am today- someone who is loving, caring, nurturing, diligent and independent. Above all, you helped raise a woman to have values- values that will take her far in life and through the many struggles that she may encounter, she is strong enough to overcome and get back up on her feet again. Everything you have done for your family, Mama, has led me to this moment. I am who I am because I was blessed to have a Mama like you.
Every moment with you and the memories we share, are embedded in my mind. It is what keeps me going until I can see you again. I love you Mama.
